The Landmark Trust USA is a nonprofit organization with a mission of preserving historic properties through creative, sustainable uses for public enjoyment, education, and inspiration. We offer these properties as short-term whole-house vacation rentals, allowing guests to experience history on their own time and in their own way. Our 5 authentically restored historic properties sleep from 2 to 8 guests. All are available year-round and are fully furnished, with well-equipped kitchens, bed and bath linens, Wi-Fi, and access to tennis (Vermont’s oldest court!), hiking, cross-country skiing, and more. Our properties are ideal for family reunions, romantic getaways, fall foliage trips, and ski weekends. Four of our properties are adjacent to our Scott Farm property, which produces 130 varieties of heirloom apples and was a filming location for The Cider House Rules. Visitors can pick their own apples or purchase freshly picked fruit, jams, pies, and cider in season. Scott Farm also offers workshops, events, and a wedding venue. These Dummerston properties, just outside of Brattleboro are: - Naulakha, Rudyard Kipling’s 1892 home where he wrote The Jungle Book, sleeps 8. - Kipling’s Carriage House, a more intimate version of Naulakha built in 1892, sleeps 4. - The Sugarhouse, a charmingly converted 1912 sugarhouse, sleeps 2, dog friendly. - Dutton Farmhouse, a stunning 1849 house overlooking Scott Farm orchard and Mt. Monadnock, sleeps 8. The Amos Brown House, built in 1802, is located in Whitingham, near Mt. Snow. This peaceful rural house sleeps 6 and is dog friendly.
