Escape the Ordinary…
Located at the foot of Mt. Mansfield, Vermont’s highest peak, the idyllic village of Stowe, Vermont has been hosting travelers for over 200 years. A true four-season destination of international renown, Stowe offers endless opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, from summer activities to world-class skiing, and scores of unique ways to “Escape the Ordinary”.  Visitors searching for great value will find it in Stowe’s 60 unique shops, 40 restaurants, and dozens of different lodging establishments, ranging from full service resort spas to quaint bed and breakfasts and country inns.  Virtually all are locally owned, for a refreshing change. This unique juxtaposition imbues Stowe with a character reminiscent of great European mountain resorts.

Summer: While Stowe is well-known as the winter sports capital of the East, summer is our most popular time to visit! Activities abound: perhaps you'd like to go dog-carting, try your hand at zip lining, or venture into the world of mountain biking. Summer in Stowe is a time to enjoy all that Vermont has to offer, from fabulous Green Mountain views along the world-famous Recreation Path to great shopping and dining.

Fall: Fall in Stowe brings the explosions of autumn color for which Vermont is internationally famed. The brilliance of Stowe's fall foliage adds an extra dimension of enjoyment to every outdoor pursuit, from serene strolls on the recreation path to nerve-jangling rock climbs on the faces of Smugglers Notch and everything in between. The colorful hillsides - ablaze with red, orange, and gold - are truly breathtaking. It's a treat for the senses and the soul!

Winter: In winter, skier and snowboarders come from around the world to experience Mt. Mansfield's storied terrain. Stowe also offers sleigh rides and dogsledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and ice skating. Stowe is especially famous as one of North America's premier cross country skiing destinations, with hundreds of kilometers of groomed and backcountry trails.

Spring: Springtime in Stowe brings sunshine, blue skies, brilliant skiing and flowers blooming in the valley. Winter's grip releases the Mountains and the unlocking of the Earth begins. These are the sunny days of spring that give Stowe the deepest snow base with the warmest skiing and sunniest days of the ski season.  In the Valley, buds are evident on the trees and we are treated to the return of the brilliant colors and fragrance of spring flowers blooming in the valley. The aroma of boiling sap fills the air as local farmers stoke their fires in their sugar houses: maple syrup season is like no other.
