Your visit to Billings Farm brings you into the barn of our award-winning herd of Jerseys, and up-close with our draft horses, oxen, sheep, goats, chickens and pigs. In the 1890 Farm Manager’s House you’ll participate in the domestic routines of farm life a century ago and learn how the management of the Billings estate served as model of sustainable farming and forestry. Extensive exhibitions of Vermont’s farming history explain the routines and rhythms of agrarian life in the 1800s. Take time to stroll the property, enjoy the views, and explore the trails along the Ottauquechee River. And don’t forgot to taste Billings Farm Cheddar in the Museum Shop! After your farm visit, walk across the street to Vermont’s only National Park, Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park, where you can tour the Billings mansion and hike the trails of Mount Tom.
