Green Mountain Credit Union was established in 1959 and organized to serve Green Mountain Power employees and their family members. Over the years, service has expanded to what we are now, a not-for profit, full service financial institution. Our philosophy is one of service and pride as we strive to meet the continued needs of our members with useful, competitive and efficiently delivered financial services. Your accounts at Green Mountain Credit Union are federally insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a U.S. Government Agency. NCUA provides a strong insurance fund that is federally regulated.

Credit Unions offer a different way to bank. We are not-for-profit financial cooperatives that are solely owned by their membership. Unlike banks, we do not have stockholders so decisions are made for the good of the membership, and not to drive stock value. Members have a direct impact on how the credit union moves forward by individually voting and electing a voluntary Board of Directors who have members best interest at heart.
