If your idea of camping is a quiet family campground that brings you back to nature, then you’ve come to the right place. Just north of Arlington on Historic Route 7A you’ll find Camping On The Battenkill. Your hosts, Shelley-Ann and Alan, purchased the park in September 2019.
The Battenkill River is known as one of the best trout streams in the East. The challenge is in landing the native trout that reside in the stream. Swimming in the campground is done at the natural swimming hole in the Battenkill where the water is clear and refreshing. For little children who need a quiet area for swimming, there is the local recreational park, located 1000 feet from the campground. Many campers enjoy bringing their own tubes or canoes and floating down the river on hot summer days. Children and adults alike enjoy our open field for playing ball games, swinging on the swings, or digging in the sand pile.
We have 48 sites in hardwoods, 37 sites in a partially wooded area, and 18 sites along our open field/playground area. All sites have generous spacing and our tent sites are very popular. There is a lot to do In the local area such as hiking, biking and covered bridge tours. Experience Vermont at any time of the season and you will find epic shopping in Manchester and many other attractions.
