Maplecroft is a grand 1887 Victorian home built by Scottish immigrant and prominent Vermonter George Mackie, and features a circular tower, carved wood trim, high ceilings and period furnishings. Lovingly renovated, George Mackie’s “Scottish Castle” is the perfect place to stay in central Vermont.

Owned and operated by Caryn Lawrence whose lifetime career in hospitality has culminated in the purchase of Maplecroft B&B. We offer 3 well appointed guest rooms, 2 suites, one in the main house and the other is actually a one-bedroom apartment located over the carriage house. Complete with a private entrance, full kitchen, living/dining area, separate bedroom with a king bed, it is the perfect place for longer stays. See our House Tour.

Guests feel at home in our comfortable living room with its toasty fireplace or in our entertainment room with cable TV, DVD’s, CD’s and games. We serve a full breakfast in our elegant dining room. In the warmer months you can sit on our wrap around porch with a good book enjoying a gentle breeze. Staying in touch with the office or loved ones while you’re away is easy. The entire house is Wifi and cell phone accessible.
