HARD CIDER TASTING ROOM

At Stowe Cider in the Green Mountains of Vermont, craft cidermaking in the European tradition is alive and well.

Our production uses locally sourced ingredients and starts with a careful blend of pressed cider from ecologically grown apples. Our cider is unfiltered, unpasteurized, unsweetened, preservative free, and is dry and lightly carbonated with lingering tart and crisp flavors.

Hard cider is part of our American heritage. It was one of the most popular beverages up to the Civil War. After the war, German immigrants brought with them the tradition of beer. Because beer was quicker and cheaper to produce, it soon displaced cider in popularity. After prohibition, cider production never recovered and largely disappeared. The U.S is currently experiencing a resurgence of interest in hard cider.

Come visit our tasting room. Visitors can taste a flight of ciders on tap which may include our flagship New England farmhouse-style cider or seasonal flavors such as blueberry, cranberry, ginger, honey or bourbon finished.
