The sugarhouse is unique, as all-renewable resources are used, with 70 solar panels on the roof, and traditional wood fire. A reverse osmosis machine is used, which removes part of the water before boiling, reducing fuel and labor. There is a second story viewing platform to stand on in the steam and watch the boiling and drawing off of hot syrup during actual boiling times.
Open Monday – Saturday 10-5, and Sunday afternoons in the summer. “World famous Maple Creamees!” Check our Facebook page for up-to-date boiling times. Also, visit Bette’s Blog or our recipe page for inspiration.
Silloway Maple is a family owned and operated maple sugaring business in Randolph Center, Vermont. Located conveniently off Exit 4 on I89, they give year-round tours of their maple sugar house, offer free samples, and plenty of maple syrup, cream, candy, and sugar. We have a well-stocked supply of maple products, all made right on the farm.
Paul Silloway began the sugaring business, in addition to his dairy, in the 1940s, gathering the sap with his team of workhorses. Many changes in technology have been made over the years, but the same award-winning maple syrup is still produced.
