St. Anne’s Shrine is located on the site of Fort St. Anne, Vermont's oldest settlement on the shores of Lake Champlain. The Shrine is situated on thirty-one acres, touching the shores of Lake Champlain, and overlooking the Adirondack Mountains. Visitors can reflect among the pine trees and enjoy many rustic grottos on the grounds.  

The first Catholic Mass in Vermont was celebrated at this historical site among French settlers in 1666. The Shrine is conducted today by members of the Society of St. Edmund and religious services are held in the outdoor Chapel and Pavilion from late spring through mid-October. Overnight accommodations are available all year round for Religious Groups and Individual Pilgrimages to the Shrine. Please call the Shrine office for information. 

An all-purpose building is open daily to visitors. Picnic facilities are plentiful for families and groups of all types. Our café is open in July and August for a delicious breakfast buffet on Sundays. Meals are available for organizations and groups by reservation. We serve light lunch on Wednesdays in July and August.

The Gift Shop is open daily for visitors wishing to purchase books, religious articles, souvenirs and Vermont gifts.  Chapel, Visitors' Center, History Room, Gift Shop, Cafe, picnic, beach, dock. Visit the statue of Samuel de Champlain, sculpted at Expo '67.
