Have only been once with family, for dinner outside on a lovely August evening. Service was friendly but a little spacy :-) Menu was succinct but well executed. Dishes were inventive flavor combos of excellent ingredients. Cocktails and juice drinks were delicious. Starters likewise - good size for sharing. Desert was also well made classics like creme brulée. Hostess/owner was charming. Patio plantings and low traffic streetside was pleasant alternative to eating in.

I want to call this place a hidden gem but it appears that a lot of locals know about it- to the point where you might find yourself waiting in line to get in.

The breakfast plates are must haves. I had the Canadian Truck stop and tried a bit of the Huevos Rancheros. You can't go wrong with either. There's a latte on the menu infused with maple syrup which is different- in a good way! And don't leave without trying the smashed truffled fingerling potatoes- you'll be happy you did.

Not sure if my visit during Mother's Day was impacted by the crown of people both inside and outside the restaurant, but service was incredibly slow from being greeted by the maître d' to ordering and food delivery to the table. Not a deal breaker for me but enough to make me wonder if there was an issue operationally.

Coming from Boston with its plethora of restaurants serving farm-to-table cuisine, Kismet stood out in terms of flavor, creativity, and overall experience. This was probably one of the best I've had in a while - and it came as a surprise from a small, humble spot in Vermont's capital city of Montpelier.

After comparing few similar options in the surrounding area, we decided to place our bet on this joint and went for an early Saturday dinner. Our server was attentive, and service was fast! Kismet is also one of those places that provides plenty vegetarian and vegan friendly options, while staying incredibly thoughtul in preparing their dishes. They also have a $45 prix fixe deal for a 3-course dinner as well, which, if you're coming in hungry, is a great deal to take advantage of!

We opted for their famous Whipped Feta (yum! Feta tends to be heavy and on the saltier side in my opinion, but theirs was perfect!), Fried King Oyster Mushrooms (simple and flavorful, I almost ended up finishing the entire dish by myself), Beets Salad (love the Labneh, brings a nice contrast to the Beets), and the best dish we had for the night... Baked Pasta! Words can't describe how we loved this dish. The smoked Hazelnut and mushrooms filling were divine, I did not even miss meat at all.

Thank you for giving us a lovely dinner experience, and we will definitely be back next time we are around the area. Keep up the amazing work!!

We got there soon after they opened for Sunday brunch, and the host and waitress were nice enough to tell us they would be delayed in taking our order in order to "let the kitchen catch up." Whatever. Maybe the kitchen help got in late that day? It wasn't all that crowded yet. I ordered coffee and the wife ordered a special juice (think juicer). She liked it. Finally ordered and she ordered some type of grain/salad bowl, while I ordered my typical French toast with a side of bacon. It took a while to come to the table, but at least someone was coming around to refill my coffee.

Order finally arrived at the table. My wife liked her dish, but my French toast was sitting in a pool of syrup and was cold, so it wasn't that good. It came with blueberries, and I knew I wasn't getting fresh blueberries this time of year, so I wasn't disappointed with the really small berries.

If I order it again, I'll be sure to ask for the syrup on the side. I'm willing to give them anther chance.

I came here for lunch, but ate brunch menu, fish cake. Salmon was really tasty and perfectly cooked. I also tried fresh juice, carrot orange. It was very good, too. The service was friendly.

The food was okay. It was unique and full of flavor.

My main problem with this place was the pricing.

I was tricked by the two $$ signs for this restaurant. Had it actually been a '$$' I would've felt alright about coming here. But this is a three $$$ place. And it didn't even taste like I was eating $$$ food.

Overall it was an upsetting experience and because of this deliberate foolery, this place earned 1 star from me.

There are so many better restaurants that offer better tasting food, larger portion sizes, without emptying your wallet. Had I known this place would be this costly, I would've spent my 45 minutes of driving to go somewhere else.

Incredible food - delicious vegetarian and vegan options with amazing attention to detail for a place that also serves meat. We were impressed by everything we tried! Crispy oyster mushrooms, polenta fries, mushroom agnolotti with a fennel cream sauce, and chocolate truffle with salted caramel center!!

Went here for brunch, the restaurant is small but still feel spacey, the lighting was bright but warm and I love the decoration. I think this restaurant is good if you want to have date night.
I Ordered Bread pudding, its really salty but its tasty. Presentation was beautifull too. I gave 5 star as my bf ordered egg benedict with salmon and it was really good. The staff were friendly aswell.
